CBA is committed to supporting and enriching the Indigenous communities in which it operates. This commitment was formalised through the launch of the Bank's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in July 2008.
Telstra
Telstra is Australia’s leading telecommunications and information services company, with one of the best known brands in the country. Telstra’s partnership with OLPC Australia represents a key initiative of Telstra’s inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan. The partnership with OLPC Australia will assist in maintaining efficacy and reach between geographically vast areas, whilst providing the coverage required for children to stay connected.
News Limited
The distribution of laptops at Yirrkala School in Yirrkala, East Arnhem Land on 31 March 2010, marks the formal launch of News Limited’s Partnership with OLPC Australia.
News has been involved in the project however since 2005 when News Corporation's Chairman Rupert Murdoch agreed with OLPC chair, Nicholas Negroponte to become a global partner of the project and injected several million dollars into the program. Since then, Newscorp has supported the rollout of machines in a number of developing countries, and is proud to continue this support through remote Australian communities.
