Gala Event
On Thursday, May 27, OLPC Australia celebrated its 1st anniversary at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.
The night was a retrospect on what the charity has achieved in the past 12 months and an opportunity to thank the many individuals and organisations that have supported OLPC Australia thus far.
With performances from Bangarra Dance Theatre and vocalist Emma Donovan, as well as a delectable Indigenous-inspired menu designed by world-renowned chef Tony Bilson, it was truly a night of celebration.
The Prime Minister of Australia, The Hon. Kevin Rudd, attended the event and delivered the key note address. In his speech the Prime Minister announced Deductible Gift Recipient status for the charity, and called on the general public to support the education initiative.
All donations over $2 are now tax deductible. Please, give generously to provide a remote Australian child with a their own XO laptop, and a window of opportunity.
